POST: Head of the Earth Observation Project Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes.
This post is classified A6 of the Coordinated Organisations’ salary scale1.
LOCATION: ESTEC, Noordwijk (The Netherlands).
DUTIES:
Under the direct authority of the Director of Earth Observation Programmes, the Head of the Earth Observation Project Department is responsible for the management and implementation of approved
ESA Earth Observation (EO) satellite projects and programmes in phases B/C/D/E1, including launch and in-orbit verification, in accordance with agreed high level requirements (...)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants for this post should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
They should have experience in several of the core tasks of a satellite development project acquired either in industry or within the Agency, and possess substantial satellite project management experience.
Applicants should have a good knowledge of ESA’s internal procedures and organization.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated leadership qualities for the management and motivation of a major Department of the Directorate, and of leading high level interactions with both internal and external entities.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
